I am not sure why they call it The Dog Days of Summer but my dad told me that I have to take it easy in the heat and our walks have to be early or late in the day when the weather is hot.  My dad (Dr. Mayer) won't leave me in the car if the temperature is in the high 70's and it is sunny.  Dad once was at a lecture and a surgeon from Ohio State had a pug.  Dogs with short snouts have a harder time breathing and sometimes need surgery.  This doctor said if it was 75 or above he would not let his dog out and when he had guests coming over he would pre-medicate his dog so it would stay calm and have an easier time breathing.  I guess I just have to lay around when it is really hot but I am pretty good at that anyway.

Love, Cali
